The Diamond drive enclosure allows the IDE hard drive to appear as a direct connection to the host in eSATA mode. Instead of a slow tape cartridge, you enjoy the fast performance of the IDE hard drive. Once the OS detects the presence of the Diamond Drive enclosure (cartridge), it appears as an additional hard drive to the system.
